Massachusetts "HEAT" Loans
The residential HEAT Loan Program provides 0% loans from participating lenders to assist with qualified energy-efficient improvements in homes or rental properties.
Loans are available up to $25,000 with terms up to 7 years (depending on the loan type).
Eligible energy-efficiency improvements include:
- High efficiency air conditioning systems (New!)
- High efficiency heating systems
- High efficiency domestic hot water systems
- Solar hot water systems
- ENERGY STAR® thermostat(s)
Loan authorization review can take as little as 24 hours and lenders can generally produce loan checks in 1-3 days. Not everyone is eligible, but Alvin Hollis can help you determine if you may be able to benefit from this terrific consumer assistance program.
Federal Tax Credits

A $500 cap applies per homeowner or home. In addition, a lifetime tax credit cap of $500 applies for prior claims submitted since Jan. 1, 2005.
Now through December 2013.
Systems installed in 2012 are also eligible for tax credit.
